Welcome to my house. My name is Andi Jaume’ aka Mama Jaume’ (pronounced JawMay). I come from a very large family. I am in the middle of six children, two older brothers and three younger. I am the only girl. I have one daughter who has three children (my grandchildren), and two step-children who I call my own.
I grew up as an Air Force brat. My father retired to the family farm when I was still in High School so I also come from a farming background. My mother and grandparents taught me how to cook and sew and take care of a family. My father taught me how to take care of life on the farm. I drove a tractor and hay truck before I was old enough to legally drive a car. My brothers and I were all in 4H and most of us went on to be 4H leaders as adults.
After I grew up and got married, I continued as the wife of a farmer whose father was a dairy farmer and had Belgium horses that turned the sorghum presses that pressed the juice out of the cane so we could make sorghum molasses.
Later in life I owned several businesses including a restaurant, a saddle and tack store, and a desktop publishing company. After I got my kids raised, I returned to college and obtained two Master’s Degrees in Business and Human Resources Management. I have retired now and am devoting the rest of my life to writing and educating my family and friends by sharing my knowledge and experiences. I welcome you to my blog and hope you find something useful here.
You will find my blog divided into sections depending on content. I plan to have a section on cooking where I will share my own creations as well as those I have found on Facebook, Pineterest, and other sources. I do not intend to steal other people’s ideas and share them as my own, but I do intend to share other people’s ideas if I think they are good ideas, but will always give credit where credit is due. I will have a section on sewing and quilting, crocheting and knitting. I will have sections on gardening and food preservation. I will have a section on repurposing and other DIY ideas. I also will have a section on disaster preparedness.
I invite you to comment on anything you find on my blog if you have tips on improving the posted idea, related links, experience, or whatever.
Negativity will not be allowed. I reserve the right to delete any post that I feel is inappropriate in any way. Like I said, my blog was started for the benefit of my family and friends, but was expanded to include my adopted family, which includes you. Children will be reading my blog, most especially my grandchildren so please respect the young innocent minds of those who may be reading my posts.
